Breathe and Don't Beat yourself up-
Oh the allure of sleeping 8 hours, or oh even 8.5 hours a night... during the week!!! Its like some sort of fantasy... something that is unattainable... a pipe dream... Or is it..?? In the previous episode I mentioned the hourly breakout of my pre-corona Macro Routine and needless to say it was fairly packed. However, with commutes being canceled for the foreseeable future I now had this 3.5-4 hours of flex time which could be used for anything. Using it to get an extra hour (lets be real 2+) was really tempting because on the best/ once every 2 weeks maybe.. I would get in 7... but usually it was closer to 6. However this would mean I would have to give up 2 hours of language learning, youtubing, extended work hour time, or disconnecting time... Would it be worth it....?
Corona has turned this world upside down, I still ,more than 10 weeks in, do not think we have fully grasped the amount of change we have all gone through over the last few months. Blessed and fortunate enough to be able to work from home has given me the opportunity to still be able to provide for my family, however this situation is unique and has created its own challenges. Work days are longer... The business needs my calculations to project where they will land post Corona. So instead of 9 hour days they can be 10-11,12 hour days... (in the next section "Thriving Working From Home" I will go over how I managed that down). To add to added work stress.... Americans have never had to really experience a Duel Front Macro Threat before... We have always been able to make it through when its 1 type of disaster whether its economic, social, natural, or even biological. But when its 2 (and hopefully it stays at 2) and if you believe in science these allied foes are going to be for a long... long... time its hard to stay focused and get through the day... Let alone maintain a "Macro Routine".
So do something for yourself- yes Im giving you the chance to be a little selfish (in a safe and socially distant way of course) and remember what is important to you personally and how you cannot only just survive through this but how can you thrive through it.
Recommended Sleep hours are a wonderful thing. :)
